This anisotropicplus video shows how I was able to improve the performance of double braided polyester for trick rope spinning by treatment with water based polyurethane. It is easy to do and shows how other chemicals could also work. The trade-off between increasing bending stiffness and excessive rotational stiffness is discussed. This is particularly important for the Butterfly Trick.
