This anisotropicplus video includes a description of a steam engine Hero of Alexandria, also known as Heron of Alexandria, documented over two thousand years ago. It was known as an Aeolipile and also as Hero’s engine. I have always wanted to make one of these and I found a relatively inexpensive and easy way to make a similar engine using a standard copper toilet tank float. I show how I built it and then demonstrate it including a thermal infrared video of it in operation. I think you will find this video interesting and informative. This is a link to a Wikipedia article describing Hero of Alexandria and his Aeolipile. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero_of_Alexandria
