This anisotropicplus video shows how I was able to put together a homemade vacuum aspirator using ordinary parts in my home shop. It worked much better than I had hoped for and could be useful for someone who has unrestricted tap water available and needs to remove some water from a boat cover, a flooded house, etc. It has the advantages of not requiring electricity so it could be used during a power outage without the danger of electrocution from using an electric pump in a wet area. The video indicates it required an hour to pump out the boat cover. Actual pumping time was closer to 15 minutes. The hour included set up and experimentation.
