This anisotropicplus video is about how burying plastics may be the best way to sequester carbon deep underground. Biodegradable plastics put the carbon back in the atmosphere. Recycling is good, but the carbon is still above ground where it can easily degrade and end up in the atmosphere. Most sources indicate plastics will not degrade for 450 to 1,000 years underground. If you want to sequester carbon and keep it out of the atmosphere what better way than to bury cleaned and densified plastic waste underground as long as contamination is kept out of ground water. This sure beats the cost of building giant sequestration machinery that requires energy to run. Of course we need to continue efforts to keep plastic waste out of the oceans. Get it out of the ocean and bury it deep underground.
