This anisotropicplus video explores whether infrared from a hot air gun can be seen by infrared thermal imaging and whether it can propagate through a 90 degree aluminum dryer vent elbow covered with black polyethylene. Usually the infrared emitted from a hot air blower is ignored and this video supports that it could be a meaningful component of energy transmitted to a target irrespective of the hot air. The hot air itself is not a source of infrared radiation so it has to come from the heating elements in the blower.
