FLIR Infrared Videos of Magma at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

April 15, 2018

This anisotropicplus video is about using an ios FLIR Pro One Thermal Infrared camera to take videos of the Halema‘uma‘u lava lake at the Jaggar Museum overlook. The Kīlauea Volcano is erupting at the time of this writing causing the park to be closed. When we were there over April 15 – 17 in 2018 the rangers said the magma pool was the highest it had been in a while. The area had huge amounts of rain just before we arrived which may have impacted the stability of the volcano (my opinion). I hope you enjoy the video and please take a look at our others.
