This anisotropicplus video demonstrates several designs of inexpensive and easy to make robot and/or puppet hands. They are all humanoid and are operated manually as an extension of a normal human hand. Similar to a puppet hand. My favorite is the one that reduces a normal hand size down to a much smaller robotic or puppet hand.
